Access the Special Event Food Safety Portal

Starting in 2026, Toronto Public Health requires a new registration process for selected special event organizers and food vendors planning to operate in the City.
Log in to the Special Event Food Safety Portal

 

The portal is currently restricted to selected special events held in the City of Toronto. If your event is not a selected special event, please register as an organizer or food vendor using the standard registration process.

 

Food served at special events in Toronto must comply with the Ontario Food Premises Regulation. Special event organizers and applicable food vendors must use the portal to set up their Special Event Organizer Account and/or Food Vendor Account.

Organizers can use their account to register their Special Event.

Food Venders can use their account to:

  • Register their food vending operation
  • Submit their Food Vendor self-audit reports, and
  • Review their registration and audit details

To help you prepare and support safe, successful events for attendees, follow the instructions below to set up and access your Special Event Organizer and Food Vendor Account.

Complete a one-time setup to access your Special Event Organizer and/or Food Vendor Account. After setting up your account, you can log in to the Special Event Food Safety Portal anytime.

If you do not have a City of Toronto Login, complete Step 1 below. If you already have a a City of Toronto Login, go directly to Step 2. If you have a My Child Care Account or a Business Licence & Permit Account, you will already have a City of Toronto Login. The City of Toronto Login is a secure way to access multiple City services online with the same username and password.

Step 1: Create a City of Toronto Login

  1. Log in to the Special Event Food Safety Portal. On the Log In screen, select “Create a Login”
  2. Enter your email address and create a user name and password
  3. Follow the instructions on screen to verify your email with a one-time PIN. You are now logged in and can continue to Step 2 below.

Step 2: Link your Special Events Food Safety Account

  1. Log in to the Special Event Food Safety Portal and enter your City of Toronto Login username and password.
  2. Provide your name and phone number when prompted. Your email already be filled in with the email address you used to create your City of Toronto Login.
  3. Select “Link Account”. You can now access your account.

After you have completed the steps above, you can access your account anytime using your City of Toronto Login.

Once you have access to your Special Events Food Safety account, register your operation with Toronto Public Health. 

You will need to provide contact information for the owner and on-site operator and indicate location and details for the special event. This information is required for food safety review and inspection planning. 

After registering, you will receive an Event ID number (EVT-########). Provide this Event ID number to your food vendor to complete their registration.

Once you have access to your Special Event Food Safety Account, register your operation with Toronto Public Health.

You will need to provide:

  • contact information for the owner and on-site operator
  • operation details
  • a list of the food you will be serving
  • the Event ID number (EVT-########) provided by the special event organizer.

This information is required for food safety review and inspection planning.

Food vendors need to submit daily self-audits using the Special Events Food Vendor Account.

Self-audits include reports on:

  • staff health
  • food safety conditions
  • whether essential equipment and facilities are in place
  • any issues that could affect food safety

Confirming this information supports safe service and helps identify and address concerns early.

If you have forgotten your City of Toronto Login username and password:

  1. Log in to the Special Event Food Safety Portal
  2. Select “Forgot Username” or “Forgot Password” and follow the steps.
