Applicability to Social Housing Programs

The policies and procedures in this City Guideline are to be implemented under the following programs.

Background

The Housing Services Act, Regulation 367, section 100 permits the City of Toronto, as service manager, to make local standards for the operation of housing projects, including a local standard for the “minimum number of meetings of the board of directors… that must be held.”

This City Guideline directs housing providers to comply with the following Local Rule – Minimum Number of Board Meetings:

The board of directors of each housing provider must hold at least four meetings within every fiscal year.

Action Required

All housing provider board of directors, officers and employees must comply with the Local Rule – Minimum of Board Meetings.
