The City shares information about capital projects expected to proceed to procurement to help industry plan capacity and resources.

A capital project is the full scope of City-led work undertaken to create, acquire, improve, refurbish or extend the life of tangible assets, including land, buildings, engineered structures, water and wastewater infrastructure, parks and public realm assets, equipment, vehicles, and technology systems, that support service delivery, enable growth, or fulfill legislated requirements over multiple years.

These projects result in long-term municipal assets that provide benefits beyond one fiscal year and require Council-approved funding through the capital budget process.

The City’s capital projects are implemented based on the current approved 10-year Capital Budget.

This list below focuses on projects delivered by four City divisions within Infrastructure Services: Engineering & Construction Services (ECS), the City’s primary capital delivery agent, and its three primary asset owner clients: Toronto Water (TW), Transportation Services (TS), and Solid Waste Management Services (SWMS).
