Behind the worn green doors of Zion Schoolhouse, located at 1091 Finch Ave. (Leslie/Finch), is a school frozen in time.

Past, Present, Future

Students and teachers alike can see what’s changed and what’s stayed the same in the last 110 years of education in Toronto. Through hands on, minds on, inquiry-based learning, students examine the lives of the children attending the school in 1910, connect to their own experience as well as imagine the future of education together. This program embodies the principles of anti-oppression, anti-colonialism, anti-racism, sustainability and advocacy. The program also makes visible structures of education institutions in context of settler colonialism.
