Parks Maintenance & Construction has a selection of commemorative tree species depending on availability as well as suitability to the preferred site. Native tree species are promoted.

Approval of a site location depends on proposed plans for the future within a park, the location of underground utilities, and other site restrictions. Some parks may already be at capacity and may not be available for planting. Planting dates cannot be specified. Choice of tree species and planting sites are subject to City approval. If a planting location and/or tree species cannot be mutually agreed upon, the application fee will be refunded.

Some species are for spring planting only. In some cases, a site visit by the applicant with a City representative will be required.

Note: if you have a maintenance request for a commemorative tree, you will need to request this from staff in the Commemorative Tree Program.
