The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines.

 

To date, 211,247 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.

 

Today, a number of Toronto hospitals and community healthcare centres are vaccinating priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework for COVID-19 vaccination including residents aged 80 years and over. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.

 

The following healthcare partners are working to operate approximately 22 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site vaccinations, to vaccinate priority groups in their communities.

 

Unity Health Toronto

  • Yesterday, held two clinics at St. Michael’s Hospital and St. Joseph’s Health Centre and a mobile clinic at Na-Me-Res.
  • Vaccinated 1,040 people who are priority hospital and community based healthcare workers, local pharmacy staff, local dentists and their staff, individuals 80 years and older, hemodialysis patients, individuals living in congregate settings, members of the Indigenous community and shelter staff.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics and two mobile clinics in congregate settings.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 1,000 people belonging to the same groups.

 

University Health Network– Mid-West Toronto

  • Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and a mobile clinic.
  • Vaccinated 500 people who are individuals 80 years and older at the on-site clinic, and 45 hemodialysis and cancer patients 80 years and older at the mobile clinic.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics and a mobile clinic.
  • Will administrate approximately 450 doses to healthcare students and individuals 80 years and older at the on-site clinics, and 185 doses to chemotherapy patients 80 years and older, individuals living in congregate care settings and shelters and homebound seniors.

 

Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners

  • Yesterday, held two on-site clinics (Warden Hilltop Community Centre and MGH), one primary care clinic and two mobile clinics.
  • Vaccinated 876 people who are healthcare workers, first responders from Toronto Police Service, community members who are 80 years and older and individuals living in congregate settings.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics (Warden Hilltop Community Centre and MGH), run one primary care pop-up clinic and deploy two mobile teams.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 765 people belonging to the same groups.

 

Humber River Hospital

  • Yesterday, held one on-site clinic and a mobile clinic.
  • Vaccinated 860 people who are healthcare workers, long-term care staff and essential caregivers, first responders and individuals 80 years and older.
  • Today, will hold one on-site clinic and a mobile clinic.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 674 people belonging to the same groups.

 

North York General Hospital and North York Toronto Health Partners

  • Yesterday, held one vaccination clinic.
  • Vaccinated 70 people who are hospital healthcare workers and patients 80 years and older.
  • Today, will hold three clinics to vaccinate approximately 700 people who are hospital healthcare workers, individuals living in shelters and community members 80 years and older.

 

Scarborough Health Network

  • Yesterday, we held two on-site clinics and two mobile clinics.
  • Vaccinated 680 people who are healthcare workers, residents 80 years and older referred by their primary care physicians, and members of the vaccination team at the on-site clinics.
  • Vaccinated 290 individuals at long-term care homes and in shelters.
  • Today, will hold two on-site clinics and two mobile clinics.
  • Will vaccinate over 2,180 people belonging to the same groups.

 

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre

  • Today, will hold one on-site clinic.
  • Will vaccinate approximately 1000 people who are community residents 80 years and older, Indigenous adults, adults who receive home care, community healthcare workers, and hospital, long-term care and retirement homes staff.

 

As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Ontario Government, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people based on the priority framework established by the Province.

 

The City of Toronto will open three mass immunization clinics on March 17 for Toronto residents over the age of 80. Details on booking an appointment will be made in the coming days.

 

The City of Toronto, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community.
