The City of Toronto is working with all our healthcare partners and Toronto Public Health to administer all available COVID-19 vaccines.
To date, 226,130 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Toronto.
Later this morning, approximately 133,000 individual COVID-19 vaccination appointments for Torontonians born in 1941 and earlier will be available to book online through the City’s COVID-19 web page. The 133,000 bookings will be for appointments between March 17 and April 11 at three City-operated mass immunization clinics. The City will announce when the link is live in a news release and via City social media accounts later this morning. Residents are asked to be patient and not call 311 or Toronto Public Health about when registration will be live. The number of appointments booked will be reported in this Toronto COVID-19 vaccination update on March 13, 15 and 16. On March 17, the City will pivot to reporting the number of people immunized the previous day and the number of appointments daily at the three City-operated vaccination clinics, as well as continuing to share health sector partner vaccination updates.
Today, a number of Toronto hospitals and community healthcare centres are vaccinating priority groups identified by the Province of Ontario’s priority framework for COVID-19 vaccination including residents aged 80 years and over. These clinics are only vaccinating those in the priority groups who have confirmed appointments.
The following healthcare partners are working to operate approximately 25 clinics today, including mobile teams and on-site vaccinations, to vaccinate priority groups in their communities.
Unity Health Toronto
University Health Network (UHN) – Mid-West Toronto
Michael Garron Hospital – East Toronto Health Partners
Humber River Hospital
North York General Hospital and North York Toronto Health Partners
Scarborough Health Network
Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre
As vaccine supply for the general population becomes widely available from the Government of Canada and the Ontario Government, more than 350 clinics, including pharmacies and mobile clinics across Toronto, will vaccinate people based on the priority framework established by the Province.
The City of Toronto, Toronto Public Health, hospitals and community healthcare centres are all working together to get Torontonians vaccinated as quickly as possible. Getting vaccinated protects individuals, their close contacts and the community.
To stop the spread of COVID-19 in the community, protect the healthcare system and save lives, the City continues to urge all residents to stay home as much as possible. Please review the City’s simple “Dos” and “Don’ts” guide for recommended and mandatory public health measures. The guide communicates some of what is and what is not permitted under provincial regulations and City bylaws.
