Councillor Paul Ainslie (Ward 24 Scarborough-Guildwood), Member of the Toronto Library Board, City Librarian Vickery Bowles and event partners, will launch Digital Literacy Week with a showcase of virtual reality technologies and robotics demonstrations from Toronto Public Library’s Digital Innovation Hub, alongside 3D printers and displays. There will also be technology demonstrations from partner organizations such as CISCO, BMO Financial Group, Trinity Square Video and University Health Network.

Digital Literacy Week, from May 27 to June 1, is a collaboration between the City of Toronto, Toronto Public Library, Toronto District School Board and Toronto Catholic District School Board, as well as an innovative group of 35 local organizations. The week will feature more than 250 free events and workshops for all ages. This week builds on the success of last year’s first-ever Digital Literacy Day in Toronto and showcases free digital and technology programs and services available across the city, at libraries, in schools and online.
