Adopt a Second Chance Dog
Protecting your privacy is top priority for the City of Toronto. You are seeing this alert because your web browser needs to be updated to access content on toronto.ca. You will need to download and install a more recent version of your web browser to use our website.
The adoption process is the same for all dogs. To adopt a Second Chance Dog, you will also have to:
- Bring in all of your family members and any other dogs you may have at home to ensure a great match.
- Fill out a questionnaire and have a discussion with us, which can cover training needs, medical and behavioural issues and any other special needs the dog may have. This is to ensure the adopter is able to manage the dog that they are interested in.
You’ll have lots of time to spend with the dog and with our staff before a decision is made about a permanent adoption. If the dog isn’t a good match for you, we will help you find a more suitable dog. To find out more about the process, go to our adoption page.
