In Ontario, adults aged 19 and older can grow up to four cannabis plants per home for personal use. The limit is four plants per residence, not four plants per person.

To grow cannabis at home:

  • You must be 19 years of age or older
  • The cannabis must be for personal use only
  • The starting materials (such as seeds or seedlings) must be purchased from the Ontario Cannabis Store or another authorized retailer
  • Growing cannabis must not be prohibited by your lease agreement or condominium rules

If you are concerned that a residence has more than the permitted number of cannabis plants, contact the Toronto Police non-emergency line.
