Consulting with the public on new cycling and pedestrian projects is an important part of our project process. Come out and have your say or provide online feedback at any of our public consultations listed below. These consultations provide the public with an avenue to learn about the future of our roads in Toronto and ask the project staff questions.

Public consultation events and surveys for the following projects have been conducted and are now closed. These projects are either subject to approval by City Council, in the design stage, in the process of being installed or are scheduled for future installation/construction. Mid Humber Gap Trail | The Minister of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) has provided approval to advance the project with the requirement of two additional studies during detailed design that must be provided to the Ministry prior to commencing construction. |
The Queensway Complete Street | City Council authorized the installation of The Queensway Complete Street project in April 2022. The City is currently proceeding with detailed design, which will take place between 2024 and 2025 before the project is tendered. |
Road Safety Improvements on Scarborough Golf Club Road | City Council approved the installation of cycling facilities on Scarborough Golf Club Road between Ellesmere Road and Kingston Road in May 2023. |
Knox Avenue Bikeway Connection | City Council approved the installation of the bikeway connection on Knox Avenue, between Eastern Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard East, in April 2022. Road reconstruction underway as of fall 2024. |
Renewing Overlea Boulevard | City Council approved the installation of the Renewing Overlea Boulevard project in July 2022. Construction is planned to begin in 2025. |
Martin Grove Road Cycling Connections | City Council approved the installation of the Martin Grove Cycling Connections project in July 2022. Installation of the project is ongoing between the section of Rathburn Road and Burnhamthorpe Road as of July 2024. |
Huntingwood Drive Road Upgrades: Pharmacy Avenue to Kennedy Road | Cycling upgrades are currently under construction as of fall 2024. |
Gerrard East Complete Street | City Council approved the installation of bi-directional cycle track on Gerrard Street East between Parliament Street and Sumach Street in June 2023. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025. |
Mimico Neighbourhood Mobility Plan | As part of the approval process, staff will report to the Etobicoke York Community Council on June 3, 2024. |
Kensington Market Safe Streets | Construction is expected to start in 2025 and will take one to two years. |
Millwood Road Safety Improvements | Road reconstruction and road safety upgrades have commenced and are expected to be completed in December 2024. |
eglintonTOday Complete Street | City Council approved the installation of the eglintonTOday Complete Street between Bicknell Avenue and Mount Pleasant Road in May 2024. Installation of the complete street between Avenue Road and Chaplin Crescent was completed in October 2024. |
Steeles Avenue East Complete Street | Road reconstruction and bikeway installation has commenced and is expected to end in August 2025. |
Bloor Street West Reconstruction | Road reconstruction and bikeway upgrades, including the construction of a protected intersection at St. George Street and Bloor Street West, is complete. |
Portland-Dan Leckie Cycling Connections | City Council approved the installation of bikeways on Portland Street and Dan Leckie Way in April 2024. The first phase of installation on Dan Leckie Way is underway as of fall 2024. The second phase on Portland Street will take place in 2025. |
David Crombie Park Revitalization (including bikeway improvements) | Revitalization of David Crombie Park and cycle track upgrades are expected to commence in late 2024. |
Weston Cycling Connections | Phase 1 of the Weston Cycling Connections project has been installed. Public consultation is expected for Phase 2 in late 2024 and for Phase 3 in 2025. |
Jones Avenue Road Safety Improvement Options | City Council approved upgrades to the bike lanes on Jones Avenue in April 2024. Road reconstruction is expected to take place in 2025. |
Silverthorn Cycling Connections | City Council approved the installation of cycling connections, non-local traffic reduction measures, and road safety improvements to Silverthorn Avenue, Hounslow Heath Road, Laughton Avenue and Blackthorn Avenue in April 2024. |
Ellesmere Complete Street | A second phase of consultation is expected in Fall 2024. |
Leaside Bridge to Danforth Avenue Cycling Connections | The installation of bikeways on O’Connor Drive from Hopedale Avenue to Broadview Avenue and on Broadview Avenue from O’Connor Drive to Cosburn Avenue were installed in fall 2024. |
West Parkdale Cycling Connections | This project was installed in summer 2024. |
Centennial Park Cycling Connections | City Council adopted this item in June 2024. |
Beltline Gap Connections | City Council adopted this item in June 2024 with amendments. |
Danforth-Kingston Complete Street Extension | Public consultation events for this project were held in June 2024, and a survey was open until July 15, 2024. |
Trethewey Drive Complete Street | A public consultation event and survey took place in June 2024. |
Sentinel Road Safety Improvements | Construction is expected to begin in late 2024. |
Dupont Complete Street | The first phase of public consultation took place in fall 2024. The second phase of consultation is planned for winter 2024/2025. |
